Our First Community Engagement Survey
Since 2013, we've been asking the question ("If you had a room full of people willing to listen to you, what would you say?") and engaging with dozens of artists, performers and poetry enthusiasts in our community. We've hosted over 40 open mic sessions, along with other artist showcases, movie screenings, potluck gatherings and collaborative events. With so much behind us, and even more ahead of us, we wanted to take the time out to hear directly from you and what you want to explore and experience through our platform.
Before we became an incorporated tax-exempt organization, The Listening was founded with an idea that the performing arts can change lives for the better, in a manner that was far beyond entertainment.
The purpose of this survey is two-fold:
to learn more about what you - THE PEOPLE - are actually interested in, when it comes to the performing arts; and
to learn what role you believe The Listening plays in the local performing arts scene and how we can continue to serve you, as advocates and participants in the local performing art scene.
Once all the data is received, it will play a major role in our strategic plan for the next five years. It almost goes without saying, but your participation is crucial, as this is a major element in our service to the community.
(All of the information received will remain private and viewed only by our staff and leadership. We respect your privacy. Because we’re cool like that.)
