I listened to all the reasons you thought Eric, Freddie, Oscar, Antwon and Mike were in the wrong and shook my head saying “you weren’t there”. I’ve heard you talk about respecting authority no matter what, and that’s easy to say when they’re not attacking you. At more than one point you’ve uttered callous phrases like “well that’s what they get” and “someone should have taught them better”, and I stare at you and wonder if you would say that to their mothers’ faces.

That particular go-round took my mind because being a lifelong native of Lynchburg, most of the time when my peers would talk about living here, it was rarely positive.
