On July 20, 2022, The Listening will join over 150 Children’s Defense Fund Freedom Schools sites in 75 cities and 26 states across the United States for a National Day of Social Action to spread awareness and contribute to the goal of seeking Climate Justice.

The 1920's - If I was living in Harlem, New York; absolutely! I love art and fashion, and I embrace my culture to the fullest, which happen to be three huge factors that tie into the Renaissance movement that was taking place in that area during the 1920's and 30's.

The interactions with the scholars. I love building those bonds and helping them propel themselves into the future. It goes beyond just Freedom School. After the summer is done it is always exciting and heartwarming to see what accomplishments they make throughout the year.

Critical race theory, I believe that it will contribute to the end of systemic racism and I don’t think that we can eliminate educational inequality without it.

1920s…I do! I have always been told I was an old soul. The roaring 20's was also the time the Harlem Renaissance emerged to the forefront to redefined arts and culture.
